Vehicles (driver)

Vehicle hotkeys and controls are fully customizable and can vary from vehicle to vehicle. Any controls that are assigned labels on the control seat in the vehicle editor will be displayed on a controls UI upon sitting in the vehicle, and this UI can be toggled on/off while seated. Universal controls are:

Left Alt
Trim menu
H
Toggle controls UI

The variable controls are usually:

A/D
Roll left/right (aircraft), turn left/right (water/land vehicles)
S/W
Pitch up/down (aircraft), throttle (water/land vehicles)
Left/Right
Pedal left/right (yaw - for aircraft)
Up/Down
Throttle up/down (aircraft)

In addition to this, there are always at least six hotkeys that may also be assigned to various actions, like raising/lowering landing gears, turning lights on/off, activating a push-to-talk radio, etc. Note that the pilot seat (HOTAS) supports up to 48 hotkeys, allowing for a very wide range of convenient controls. Beyond the hotkeys and axes of movement provided by the pilot seat, any vehicle controls must be implemented in the design of the vehicle cockpit itself through buttons, throttle levers, keypads, or custom touchscreen interfaces with monitors. These are often preferable interfaces anyway and frequently used instead of hotkeys since toggle buttons (for example) will show whether or not they are active, allowing you to see if you forgot to stow your landing gears after takeoff even if third person view is disabled.

Standard controls for pilot seats can be found on the standards pages.

Note that multiplayer voice chat is not global, so only nearby players will hear it.
